Celebrating our Parent Friendly Schools Award

We are delighted that we have achieved the Silver Accreditation with Parent Friendly Schools. We are now working hard to achieve the Gold Award. This recognition reflects the commitment that we have to building strong and long-lasting partnerships with families. We aim to ensure that parents and carers feel welcomed, valued and actively involved in the education of their children. Please see below for more information:

The Parent-Friendly Schools Silver Award is an accreditation given by the charity Parentkind to schools that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to building trust, inclusion, and meaningful partnerships with families.

What the Award Recognises

The silver tier is part of Parentkind's broader Parent-Friendly Schools accreditation journey (which moves from the Standard Award to Silver, and onto Gold). It celebrates schools that place parents and carers at the heart of the educational experience.

The evaluation and award focus on five core drivers:

• School Ethos and Behaviour: Creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every family feels a true sense of belonging.
• Two-Way Communication: Maintaining clear, open, and consistent communication channels between the school and home.
• Home-Based Learning Support: Helping parents and carers support learning that extends beyond the classroom and into everyday conversations at home.
• Parent Involvement: Actively encouraging families to participate in school life, from volunteering on trips to supporting classroom activities.
• Community Partnerships: Forging strong links with the wider local community (such as local charities or food banks) to support families beyond the school gates.
