upcoming strikes

Dear Parents and Carers

 

Doubtless you will have heard in the media about some upcoming strikes by the National Education Union. In the South East area, these are scheduled for:

 

• Wednesday 1 February 2023
• Thursday 2 March 2023
• Wednesday 15 March 2023
• Thursday 16 March 2023

 

It remains possible that an agreement will be reached which may mean that these strikes/some of these strikes do not go ahead, but we have begun our planning in the event that they do.

 

Schools are expected to remain open wherever possible, but only if there are sufficient staff available to do so safely. We are in the process of assessing the extent to which we are able to do this. As per DFE guidance, should we need to partially close the school, priority will be given to children who are deemed vulnerable and those who are the children of key workers.  Should we have to partially close we will also seek to ensure that there is remote learning available to children not in attendance. We will send out further information to parents on Friday once we have confirmed any arrangements that need to be made.
