Minster Update 11th February 2022

DINNER MONEY – If your child has a school dinner, These need to be paid in ADVANCE. Please ensure this is paid either on the morning or at the start of the week. School dinners are £2.30 per day or £11.50 for the week. Payment can be paid via www.schoolmoney.co.uk. If you have any problems paying via this way please contact the office so payment can be made via them. Reminder – payment is only applicable for Years 3,4,5 & 6. All oustanding monies need to be paid and cleared by the end of Term 3. If monies are not received you will need to provide your child with a packed lunch at the start of Term 4. Going Home Arrangments If you are aware of a change of home pickup arrangements for your child. Can you please email the teacher the night before or send a note in with your child so that teachers are not disturbed with the messages during lesson time.
Do you have a child that LOVES to cook? Applications for the 8th series of Junior Bake Off; a Channel 4 programme that celebrates the culinary talent and ambition of the younger generation in Britain is now open – Are there any budding bakers out there? KM Charity Team are holding their Young Cooks competition. We have had previous pupils picked to represent our school. Maybe something to do over the holidays!
Bush Craft @ Monkton Nature Reserve This Half Term Monkton Nature Reserve are introducing two Bush Craft sessions. SUNDAY, 20 FEBRUARY 2022 NEW! Bush Craft (Ages 5-8) FROM 10:00-12:00 (Ages 9-12) FROM 12:30-14:30 Your child will love this exciting new session run by a qualified teacher and Forest School Level 3 Leader, Alecia Brewster. Alecia has vast experience of running bush craft sessions with children. This Half Term your child can try their hand at fire lighting in a safe, informed way and delight in den building in our magical woodland site. Home-Start Thanet will be launching a new programme specifically aimed at 0–5-year-olds on development and school readiness with a special focus on communication/Speech and Language, Babble Chatter Talking Matters.
Covid-19 - Daily testing for next 7 days
We will notify you via email of any new covid-19 positive results within year groups and ask that you follow the government guidance as below.
People who are fully vaccinated, or children and young people aged between 5 and 18 years and 6 months, identified as a close contact of someone with Covid-19, should take a LFD test every day for seven days and continue to attend school as normal, unless they have a positive test result or develop symptoms at any time.
The setting remains open and your child should continue to attend as normal if they remain well. All students and staff, regardless of year group, should remain vigilant regarding COVID 19.
ILLNESS – If you child is off school for any reason could you please phone the office EVERY day your child is absent as per our attendance policy. Unless, however you have already notified us of a positive COVID result and we are aware of the isolation period. Phone number 01843 821384 all messages are picked up every day.
