Daily Update - Tuesday 28th January 2020
Tuesday 28th January 2020
DoodleMaths '30 day challenge' - we are now on day 16 (officially started on Monday 13th January. However it is fine if children started earlier than this as there were a few technical issues over the weekend 10-12th). How are you doing? Are you on track to achieve your target? Have you been Doodling more? The Doodle Maths Leader board last Friday 17th January showed many more stars being collected than normal. Some children have changed their challenge because they felt it was 'too easy' before so they are aspiring to gain even more stars now! Remember you will earn house points and extra playtime if you succeed with this challenge!!
Thanks and keep Doodling!
CLASS PHOTO’s – these have been changed to the 26th March.
CHOIR - Please make sure your child is in school promptly on Monday. They must be wearing black trousers, sensible shoes and a long sleeved top (black if possible).
They must have a rucksack containing 2 packed meals, plenty of water and drinks. They will need a coat and maybe something to do on the coach (no screens please). No fizzy drinks or sweets. They will not need money or phones with them.
They will be given their t shirt at school as we register them. We will endeavour to get any extra orders home this week.
Please make sure your child is in school before 1pm on the Tuesday.
CHOIR IS CANCELLED ON TUESDAY AFTER SCHOOL
YEAR 4 children are currently preparing for the Multiplication Times Table Check formal assessment that is taken by all Year 4 children across the country. The children will be bringing home weekly sheets that show their progress and any current gaps in their times table knowledge. If possible, could children bring their home learning books in every week so that these sheets can be added and their progress monitored both in school and at home. We will be running a classroom-based session for parents/carers on Friday 31st January from 2.40-3.10 to explain the assessment and how we are preparing the children in school and to provide further ideas for supporting them at home. If you would like to attend, please come to Year 3/4 gate at 2.40pm and after the session the children can leave with you from the classroom. Thank you for continued support, Mrs Manning and Miss White.
YEAR 2 – we are going on a walk around Minster Abbey on Tuesday 4th February. We are looking for parent helpers for this trip. If you are able/would like to help us, please contact Liz in the Office. Timings are 9am – 12pm. Many thanks for your continued support.
RECEPTION SEPTEMBER 2020 – the deadline for registering children for Primary School has been extended to February 2020.
