Lining-Up for Morning Drop-off
Morning drop-offs should, in theory, be very safe if people are following national social distancing guidance. I have been made aware of an issue that has arisen because of a queue developing prior to the gates opening. If you do decide to queue prior to the gate opening, please remain socially distanced. A surge for the gate as it opens undoes all the hard work we are all putting in to keep our children, parents and staff safe.
Why is this an issue?
With the ‘surge’ comes a mix of children from different pods. Our main Covid safety measure in school is maintaining ‘pod integrity’ so that any germs are contained should there be a Covid outbreak in a class. This, along with handwashing, are our frontline defences to reduce the possibility of a school wide outbreak.
Please ensure you support us by not queuing up at all if possible in the morning and arrive during the time slot of 8:30-8:55. There is no real benefit for queuing as children enter the school very quickly in the mornings. If social distancing is maintained, this is very safe and naturally staggers.
Queueing before given time slots both before and after school are the main cause of problems with the systems put in place. Please queue at the appropriate times.
Thank you.
