Key Stage 2 Christingle

Yesterday evening, the children celebrated Christmas at Minster by taking part in the Christingle at St Mary’s Church. The children sang beautifully, read clearly and really enjoyed themselves. The church looked magnificent as a result of a huge congregation (every square inch was filled). However, when the Christingles were lit, the church became even more magnificent.

Well done to all the children who attended – you made it a wonderful occasion and as a result, have made all of the staff feel very Christmassy!

Thank you also for the very generous donations you have made – the proceeds of which will be sent to The Children’s Society. We raised £374.10.

Foundation Stage Nativity

Rainbow and Sunshine had an amazing time performing the Christmas Nativity this year to their parents and KS1. The show had many songs plus the band done a fantastic job playing the musical instruments. The narrators spoke confidently and clearly. The actors all looked fabulous too!

KS1 Nativity

On Friday 15th December KS1 excitedly walked down to the church to perform their Nativity play to their parents, grandparents and carers. The children enjoyed learning all about the birth of Jesus and worked very hard to learn their words! The performance was a great success and enjoyed by all! We would also like to thank the parents for the wonderful costumes that were provided for your children to wear.

September brings new displays to develop our children's thinking about their own spirituality and beliefs. The children were fully involved in this work, that stemmed from our Prayer Space Week.

A Prayer Written as a Poem

By Maisie C (Year 6)

Our Holy Father,

We rejoice in your name

And how you selflessly acted again and again.

We pray for remembrance,

With bread and with wine,

How even in danger,

With friends He did dine.

Let us follow in His footsteps,

In what He does and what He does say,

He forgives our sins and saves us.

In Jesus’ name we pray.

           Amen
