The children have had a fantastic few weeks so far at Nature Club. In the first week we explored the school garden looking for all the minibeasts that we could find and the habitats that they lived in. We were very thankful to receive a ‘bug hotel’ and we hopefully visit this later on this term to see who has moved in!
In the second week we had lots of fun with sticks and created many different stick sculptures. We decided that we could also use many of the other different natural materials around the school. The children were very respectful of the environment around them and understood that they could only use materials that were not attached.
This week we had the chance to create mud monsters; again we used a lot of the natural materials that we could find around the school. We created the monsters using sticks for hair, stones for eyes and we even managed to find a feather for a nose!
Why not keep a diary of the year.
You could include what you have seen and what activities you have done.
At the beginning of each term you could show Mrs Roger or Mr Woodward how your diary is going and share any of the interesting things that you have
found out or have done.
